Marc Cucurella’s reported move to Chelsea could benefit Lazio in the pursuit of one of their main transfer targets.
The Brighton & Hove Albion left-back appeared set to be joining Manchester City but is now reportedly on the brink of moving to Stamford Bridge, according to Fabrizio Romano.
And should that move happen, it would likely push Italy international Emerson Palmieri closer to the exit door, amid reported interest from Lazio.
Emerson was signed at Chelsea by Antonio Conte in January 2018, joining from Lazio’s rivals Roma.
However, he has never been a regular starter for the Blues as he struggled with injuries and spent last season on loan at French side Lyon, where he made 36 appearances in all competitions.
Emerson, 27, has won the Europa League, Champions League and UEFA Cup at Chelsea.
In 2020, he followed up victory in the Champions League with success at the summer’s Euros, starting the final win over England for Italy.
