Rosanero President Maurizio Zamparini revealed last week that the World Cup winner had agreed to move to Sicily, but it was reported today that Inter were trying to hijack the deal.

However, according to Sky, Guangzhou Evergrande have now agreed to sell the 33-year-old, who will sign a three-year deal worth €1.1m per season.

The striker will now fly to Italy for a medical, before officially joining Palermo.

Gilardino spent the second half of last season on loan at Fiorentina, scoring for goals in 14 appearances for the Viola.
