Despite running out as the Giallorossi’s top scorer in Serie A last season with 11 goals, the Italy international was about to enter the final year of his contract and talks over a renewal had stalled.

The 26-year-old should be joined out of the Olimpico soon by Edin Dzeko and Kostas Manolas as the Lupi have until June 30 to raise €45m.
