Daniele De Rossi could become the new youth team coach at Roma and is believed to replace his own father Alberto at the helm of the Primavera side.

Alberto De Rossi will step aside after 27 years at the Trigoria and is set to become a supervisor of the youth sector, according to the Corriere dello Sport.

He will then work alongside Morgan De Sanctis and Bruno Conti and the newspaper writes that his son Daniele would be ready to take over the position as youth team coach for the Giallorossi.

He will then work alongside Morgan De Sanctis and Bruno Conti and the newspaper writes that his son Daniele would be ready to take over the position as youth team coach for the Giallorossi.

The report claims that the former midfielder, who retired from football after a stint at Boca Juniors in Argentina, has not been in touch with Dan Friedkin, who is set to take over the club after James Pallotta.

Corriere dello Sport writes that Alberto had “on two occasions preferred to decline the offer of becoming first team coach just to not embarrass Daniele”.

Now they might get the chance to work together and the history of De Rossi with the young stars of Roma could continue. Already in December, the former captain was linked to the job, when it became clear that Pallotta would sell the club.
