Paris Saint-Germain striker Edinson Cavani has reportedly been offered to Inter as a replacement for Alexis Sanchez.

Inter look increasingly likely to send Sanchez back to Manchester United after a season ravaged by injury and the coronavirus pandemic.

Now, Gazzetta dello Sport writes how Cavani was proposed to the Nerazzurri through his representatives.

The Uruguayan could appeal to them, given he is out of contract on June 30 and will therefore be available on a free transfer.

Furthermore, long-term target Olivier Giroud seems to have extended his contract with Chelsea.

However, the newspaper warns PSG are preparing to offer the 33-year-old a new deal taking him through to 2022.

In turn, that would signal the end of Mauro Icardi’s spell in the French capital and Inter losing out on €70m from his sale.

Cavani is no stranger to Serie A, having scored over 100 goals for Palermo and Napoli between 2007 and 2013.
