Milan have reportedly offered €3.5m a season for Hakan Calhanoglu, but the Turkey international wants €5m plus bonuses.

La Gazzetta dello Sport reports the Rossoneri’s meeting with Calhanoglu’s representatives in December had brought back the optimism at Milanello.

The Rossoneri had offered €3.5m a year, an increase of €1m from his previous deal. But the midfielder seeks for more and has countered with a demand of €5m plus bonuses.

Calhanoglu arrived at San Siro in July 2017 and his current deal expires in June 2021, meaning the 26-year-old could discuss with other clubs from January.

The former Bayer Leverkusen star has contributed seven assists and one goal in 14 Serie A games so far this term and the newspaper claims Milan and Calhanoglu are expected to meet in the middle.
