Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi has insisted that fan violence ‘has to stop’ after Saturday’s Coppa Italia Final.
The match in Rome was delayed for 45 minutes after one Napoli fan was shot in the torso prior to the game.
The situation was made worse however, when Partenopei captain Marek Hamsik consulted with the club’s lead ultra to ask if the final could go ahead.

And the 39-year-old politician has admitted that it was a sorry episode for the whole country.
“We will wait until the end of the season and then in July and August, we’ll think to see how we can return the game to the football family,” he told La Stampa.
“This has to stop. It will mean that we will have to break [certain sections of the support]. Of course, it will take a lot of work.
“We also have to start thinking about new stadiums.”
