The goalkeeper is not going to join the legion of players going on strike to force through a transfer, nor handing in a medical certificate citing stress to avoid taking to the field.

According to multiple sources, Reina reassured Coach Maurizio Sarri that he is ready to play and give his best for the Partenopei tonight at the Stadio San Paolo.

However, it may well be his final appearance in a Napoli jersey, because he is determined not to let the PSG opportunity pass him by.

Napoli repeatedly refused to offer the 35-year-old a new contract, as his current deal expires at the end of this season.

Paris Saint-Germain are proposing a two-year deal with an option for a third, earning €3.5m per season.

Napoli would pocket in the region of €7m, but the issue is finding a suitable replacement with the transfer deadline on Thursday.

PSG offered the loan of Alphonse Areola or Kevin Trapp, but neither of them please Sarri.
