This is the first match under new boss Pioli, as Marco Giampaolo was fired after just seven games.

“We start after a week of hard work and hope now to have a great performance with a positive result,” the goalkeeper told Milan TV.

“The three points are the most important thing right now. I go to work every day and put in the same passion, as do my teammates. Now a new Coach has arrived, we must all give more to turn this season around.

“Every Coach has his own working method, we have to adapt quickly and put his ideas on to the pitch. Regardless of who is on the touchline, we players all need to improve with that extra 10-15 per cent.”
