Real Madrid are reportedly interested in making a move for Fabian Ruiz next summer, after his current contract expires with Napoli.

The 26-year-old Spanish midfielder has continued to impress for the Partenopei over the last few years and last campaign under Luciano Spalletti was no different, seeing him score seven goals and provide four assists. Despite his quality, Fabian Ruiz still hasn’t been tied down to a new deal yet, with president Aurelio De Laurentiis focusing on reducing the club’s wage bill.

As reported by Fabrizio Romano, Real Madrid are keen to pick up Fabian Ruiz but they’re waiting for his contract to expire with Napoli, making him available on a free transfer. Coach Carlo Ancelotti is a big fan of the 26-year-old, having brought him to Napoli from Real Betis in 2018.

The allure of joining Los Blancos is likely to appeal to Fabian Ruiz, putting Napoli in a slightly difficult spot only 11 months ahead of the Spaniard’s contract expiry.
