RB Leipzig scouts were reportedly in the stands to watch Roma striker Patrik Schick play in the 1-0 win over Sampdoria last night.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Bundesliga outfit were keeping a close eye on Schick to prepare a summer swoop.

They had already been linked with Schick during the January transfer window, while he is also known to be of interest to Everton.

The 23-year-old Czech international was purchased from Sampdoria in 2017 for €14m plus up to another €8m in various performance-related bonuses.

However, he struggled with injuries and low self-confidence, this season contributing five goals and three assists in 28 competitive games.

Both Eusebio Di Francesco and current Coach Claudio Ranieri have said Schick’s issues are largely psychological, as he lacks self-belief and is “too timid.”
