Massimo Rastelli believes Cagliari have “a psychological issue” on their travels after a 5-1 defeat to Torino.

Massimo Rastelli believes Cagliari have “a psychological issue” on their travels after a 5-1 defeat to Torino.

The Sardinians have lost all but one of their away fixtures this season, aside from a shock victory over Inter at San Siro.

“We have a good position in the table still, but it’s not fully satisfying,” the Coach told Sky Sport Italia.

“Recent away games have been very heavy for us. We tend to concede early on, lose confidence quickly and fall apart.

“The psychological aspect of playing away from home probably is an issue, as at home we feel stronger and safer.”

Cagliari changed to a 4-3-3 system today, mirroring Sinisa Mihajlovic’s Torino side.

“I tried some tactical solutions today to cover the pitch effectively, as Toro are very strong on the flanks, but it was not enough. We are not just fragile in defence, but in general as a team.

“Am I worried? No, but I am realistic. I know we alternate good performances at home with poor ones away. I am not relaxed, because we cannot keep doing this. We make life easier for our opponents this way.”
