Inter directors have reportedly informed Andrea Ranocchia that they won’t trigger their option to extend his contract, so the defender will leave the club at the end of the season.

The 34-year-old will end his time at San Siro in the summer after spending more than 11 years at the club. According to Calciomercato.com, Inter directors have already informed the player’s agent that they won’t count on him next season, so they won’t activate a clause to extend his expiring contract until 2023.

On the other hand, Inter will extend with Danilo D’Ambrosio, who will remain at the club for one more season.

Ranocchia joined Inter from Genoa in 2011 but played for six months on loan at Sampdoria (January-June 2016) and Hull City (January-June 2017). He has played 225 games in a Nerazzurri shirt, scoring 14 goals.

Inter are expected to change their defensive department in the summer. They have made Torino‘s Gleison Bremer their priority target for 2022-23 and could sell Stefan de Vrij, who has just one year left in his contract.

  1. Seems Acerbi’s arrival is iminent. Skriniar, Bastoni, Bremer, Dambrosio, Acerbi and Di marco woukd form a great department although Di marco may be included in Bremer deal.

  2. You can say anything but Ranocchia proved he is true interista. He deserve more playing time, but directors knows better.

  3. Horrible player, a true leech for inter.

Made so many mistakes over the years.

Was dubbed the next Nesta, hilarious stuff.
