It is technically played behind closed doors due to repeated racist abuse from fans, but the club has permission to bring in 11,000 children from local schools and wear patches with BUU – turning the racist noise into an acronym for Brothers Universally United.

“I think the ‘BUU’ initiative is a great idea, so is filling the stands with children, as we hope they can set the right example for the adults,” the defender told Inter TV.

“It’s a very important match and we need to get the victory. We are ready and I am convinced we’ll put in a fine performance.

“The Coach is right, we must not set ourselves any limits, because it is within our potential to win every game.

“Sassuolo will be eager to impress here, but we must focus on our own path.”
