Inter’s Andrea Ranocchia describes his late miss against Bologna as ‘a terrible shame.’

With the scores locked at 1-1 in the fifth minute of added time at the end of the game, the 28-year-old sent a free header agonisingly wide from just outside the six-yard box. The chance went begging and the Nerazzurri were forced to settle for a point against the Rossoblu.

With the scores locked at 1-1 in the fifth minute of added time at the end of the game, the 28-year-old sent a free header agonisingly wide from just outside the six-yard box. The chance went begging and the Nerazzurri were forced to settle for a point against the Rossoblu.

“It is a terrible shame, I connected with it too well,” Ranocchia told Premium Sport at San Siro. “I just needed to flick it. But it’s gone, we need to think about the next game.

“We showed a good reaction to the goal conceded, there are a lot of things to improve but we are on the right path.

“Today we didn’t start in the right way, it will be a lesson for us next time.

“Now we have to think about the Europa League, then Roma.”
