The Nerazzurri suffered a shock 2-0 home defeat to Hapoel Beer-Sheva in the Europa League opener.
“It’s a defeat. Unfortunately we hoped for another result, but it’s done now, we have to focus on Juve. We are disappointed, but have time to recover and go through,” the defender told Sky Sport Italia.

“We have to work a lot, we’re a bit behind in terms of form, but we’re giving it our all. We are Inter and shouldn’t look for alibis, so I probably shouldn’t have said that. If you don’t win these games, you ought to at least not lose.
“The Coach arrived very late and we are trying to recover lost time. It’s never easy for players to get the hang of a new Coach’s ideas if you have a packed schedule and little time to actually train. We’ll see at the end, but in any case we shouldn’t be losing these games.
“I honestly can’t say what the problem is. I don’t think there’s a first choice and second choice side, as we are all working hard to give our best.
“We are still a long way off the Inter that we should be and the Inter everyone wants to see, but I have faith because I see the effort. It is just a slip-up and we’ll make up for it against Juve.
“The result really annoys us, but we have a difficult and wonderful test coming up against Juventus.
“It’s a separate game from the rest of the season and many things get into the heads of the players. We will play to the death, because it’s never a ‘normal’ match against Juve.”
