Inter supporters let their discontent known after the final whistle against Hapoel, having seen their side slump to a 2-0 loss at home to a team embarking on their first-ever Europa League group campaign, but Ranocchia insists the result hurt his teammates more than their post-game treatment.

“The defeat hurts more than the fans booing,” the defender told Mediaset Premium.

“These we can stand as they supported us for the whole match, so they can criticise us after the game.

“Change of Coach? We don’t speak about excuses, that’s a fact.

“We started with a Coach and after only a month we changed. We must do more to return to high levels.”
