Claudio Ranieri admits he thought he was the right man to fulfil then-President Massimo Moratti’s expectations at Inter.
The Leicester City discussed his Nerazzurri tenure during an in-depth interview with Corriere della Sera, which began promisingly but saw him sacked in March 2012 following a string of poor results.
“My downfall was having won seven or eight games in a row, then it ended,” Ranieri said.

“My downfall was having won seven or eight games in a row, then it ended,” Ranieri said.
“If I had won one, drawn one and lost one…I confess, I really thought I was the right Coach for Moratti. We understood each other.”
The Italian also answered questions on his current club and admitted he wants to finish his career with the Premier League champions.
“I have told the President that I want to stay at Leicester until I’m annoyed by being a Coach, then I’ll become his right hand man!
“I have had my career, now I want to stay here. I want to see what we manage to build at Leicester.”
Finally, Ranieri revealed that he view Jamie Vardy as the most ‘Italian’ member of his squad.
“I would say Vardy, for his style of play and his character.”
