Ranieri had emerged as serious contender for the Bordeaux vacancy, but Monday’s report in L’Equipe came after it was claimed the 66-year-old had already agreed to become Sporting CP’s next Coach.
“I consider myself a European Coach,” the former Inter, Roma and Juventus boss continued to Gazzetta dello Sport.
“I received offers from outside of Europe but didn’t accept them. Germany stimulates me a lot, regardless of the language barrier.
“I’m also intrigued by Portugal, where there are great champions and excellent Coaches.”
