The Bianconeri were top of the table, one point ahead of Lazio, when the sport was halted by the coronavirus pandemic and lockdown orders.

“I’ve been doing the programmes the club have sent over, keeping fit most days. But it’s not the same as training or playing games where you don’t have any worries about putting on weight,” the Wales international told Niall Horan in an Instagram Live interview.

“It’s difficult because my wife likes to cook and I like to eat, so it’s not a good combination. When I am back at it, I am pretty strict, but it’s difficult at the moment.

“I’ve got all the kids’ biscuits and I’m just raiding that every time I go for a cup of tea!”

This is Ramsey’s first season at Juventus, having left Arsenal as a free agent, but the entire campaign has ground to a standstill.

“It was a nice position to be in but it’s a mad situation at the moment. Nobody knows what is going to happen now. But one of the main reasons for coming to Juventus was to win league titles and challenge for Champions Leagues.

“Juve are a massive club, one of the biggest  in Europe. There were other clubs interested, but I felt most wanted by them with the history they have, the players they have and they have done well in the Champions League in the last few years.

“They are knocking on the door and I want to try and help play a part in them winning the Champions League. They are serial winners and it was something I wanted to achieve. I wanted to go somewhere and be competing every single season for two, three, four trophies.”

Ramsey also has serial winner Cristiano Ronaldo as his teammate and there’s a good reason CR7 is still going strong at age 35.

“Ronaldo scores most games. He’s an exceptional athlete. He’s first in the gym, he goes through his whole routine first and then he’s out on to the pitches.

“He’s a winner,  wants to win every single game, every small-sided game, whatever it is, then he’ll be out there practising his free-kicks and things like that.

“You don’t need me to tell you how good or driven he is, he’s unbelievable, he’s one of the greatest in the history of the game.”
