Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos could potentially miss both legs of the Champions League clash with Atalanta, as it’s reported he needs knee surgery.

Cadena Cope and Marca both claim this morning that Ramos will go under the knife today to resolve a recurring knee issue.

He could be out of action for six to seven weeks, as reported by Football Espana.

That would mean Ramos missing at least the first leg of the Champions League Round of 16 with Atalanta, and be a major doubt for the second leg too.

Their first meeting is in Bergamo on Wednesday February 24, while the decider in Madrid is on Tuesday March 16.
