The Giallorossi approach the Champions League match knowing that a win would guarantee them a place in the Last 16 of the competition.

“If I could I’d just play 11 defenders, but I only have six…” Garcia joked in his Press conference ahead of the match.

“Seriously though, we have our fate in our own hands, all we have to do is win. I don’t see what we can do other than attack and to try and score a goal more than City.

“We played very well [in the away fixture] in Manchester. I think this game will be different though, because City have recovered in the League, and we’re at home.

“But the away leg can give us confidence, and give us a boost for tomorrow. It will be different, not least because it’s basically a cup final.

“It’s a cup final for us and for them.”

The French Coach also talked up his side’s achievements, reminding journalists that the Lupi had been outside of Europe’s top club competition for three years before this campaign.

“It’s been a real team effort. Roma had been out of Europe in recent seasons.

“Playing against City in front of a full Olimpico will be an important game for a team which is back in the Champions League this season.

“We want to achieve the goal of qualification for our fans and for the players for whom it would be a vindication of the work we do every day.”
