Sampdoria and Italy striker Fabio Quagliarella has been nominated for the 2019 Puskas Award.

Quagliarella is up for FIFA’s best-goal prize, courtesy of his stunning backheeled finish against Napoli last September.

Despite initially downplaying it, the 36-year-old later described the goal as the best of his career.

He is joined on the list of candidates by ex-Serie A superstar Zlatan Ibrahimovic for his flicked volley with LA Galaxy.
