Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi is in Italy trying to agree a deal with Inter for Milan Skriniar, reports detail.

The 27-year-old Slovakian centre back has confirmed that he will not pen a new contract with the Nerazzurri, meaning a departure in 2023 is certain now. PSG want to add Skriniar to their squad in this winter transfer window but weren’t willing to pay the €20m fee requested by Inter, making the defender’s immediate future unclear.

As reported by L’Equipe, Al-Khelaifi has headed to Italy to personally try and close out a deal for Skriniar, wanting PSG to pick up the defender this month and not wait until the summer. The Ligue 1 giants are prepared to pay €15m plus €5m in add-ons for the 27-year-old, essentially matching Inter’s requests.

Should this offer arrive to Inter, they’d give the green light for a sale and try to close out a deal for Atalanta’s Merih Demiral. Both defenders are expected to miss tonight’s Coppa Italia clash between the two black and blue sides.
