While PSG fans continue to crowd around airports for Lionel Messi, he remains in Barcelona until the image rights details are ironed out, but there seems to be no doubt he’s going to sign.

He said goodbye to the supporters in an emotional Camp Nou press conference yesterday, as Barca are unable to afford a new contract even after he cut his wages by 50 per cent.

There were a few false alarms in Paris today, fans rushing around at various airports where they thought he might be arriving, but pictures showed Messi by the pool in his Barcelona home.

According to L’Equipe, the image rights have to be ironed out and every detail of the two-year contract finalised before he will travel to Paris.

Meanwhile, member of the Qatari ruling family Khalifah Bin Hamad Al-Thani confirmed again via Twitter that there are no doubts Messi will join PSG.

“It is not true that is rumoured about the opening of negotiations between Messi and some clubs, things have been settled 100% in favour of Paris Saint-Germain.

“The expected arrival date of Messi to Paris is within the next 72 hours.”

    Couldn’t agree more!

Football Italia, i think readers all understand the big news surrounding Messi at the moment but, if we want to read about Messi, we’ll head over to your “sister” site Football Espana which used to have a banner on your site prior to its revamp. Not sure why there is a need to post about Messi when Messi doesn’t ply his trade in Italy, nor will he ever. Please stick to news reporting about Italian football!
