The goalkeeper merry-go-round is finally in full swing, with Ivan Provedel to Lazio, replaced at Spezia by Bartlomiej Dragowski in an unusual Fiorentina deal, which affects Alex Meret at Napoli.

The switch has been in the air for several weeks, but Sportitalia transfer expert Alfredo Pedullà believes the clubs have at last worked out the details and are ready to make it official.

Spezia goalkeeper Provedel is heading towards Lazio, who currently don’t have a goalkeeper after Thomas Strakosha and Pepe Reina both left as free agents.

That deal had stalled until Spezia found a replacement, which for a while looked as if it would be Meret on loan from Napoli.

Instead, the negotiations with Fiorentina for Poland international Dragowski seem to have found a surprise breakthrough thanks to an unusual agreement.

It will be a permanent transfer to Spezia for €2m plus €1m bonuses, but Fiorentina will be owed a massive 50 per cent of any future transfer fee.

Dragowski had been the Viola first choice until losing his place following an injury and never regaining that form.

As for Meret, he could now be heading towards Torino instead.
