Milan cannot afford to drop points against the newly promoted Cremonese as they look to stay hot on the heels of league leaders Napoli.

The match between the Grigiorossi and the Rossoneri kicks off at 19.45 UK time at the Stadio Giovanni Zini in Cremona.

Cremonese will have to manage a handful of absences as they host Milan this evening, having to do without the injured Ionut Radu, Vlad Chiriches, Santiago Ascacibar and Cyriel Dessers.

Stefano Pioli will have limited options for his Milan side in their trip across Lombardy. Theo Hernandez and Olivier Giroud are suspended, and Mike Maignan, Davide Calabria, Alessandro Florenzi, Alexis Saelemaekers and Zlatan Ibrahimovic are all out injured.

Milan sit six points behind Napoli heading into this matchday and if Luciano Spalletti’s side beat Empoli earlier in the day then that gap will grow to nine points. Anything less than a win could prove disastrous down the line for Pioli and his players.

Probable line-ups for Cremonese vs Milan

Cremonese (3-4-2-1): Carnesecchi; Aiwu, Bianchetti, Vasquez; Ghiglione, Escalante, Castagnetti, Valeri; Zanimacchia, Meité; Okereke.

Milan (4-2-3-1): Tatatusanu; Kalulu, Kjaer, Tomori, Ballo-Touré; Bennacer, Tonali; Messias, Brahim Diaz, Rebic; Origi.
