Inter striker Edin Dzeko could rest against Spezia today with Lautaro Martinez and Joaquin Correa starting up front.

The Nerazzurri are looking for the three points against their ex-midfielder Thiago Motta today. It kicks off at 18.00 UK time at the Stadio Picco.

Only Leo Sena out for Spezia. Kevin Agudelo or Daniele Verde will start in attack, while Rey Manaj is favourite over Mbala Nzola.

Spezia didn’t concede in the last two games and could keep three clean sheets in a row in Serie A for the first time in history. However, no Spezia player has ever scored against Inter.

The Nerazzurri can rely on full squad, but Simone Inzaghi will rotate his squad ahead of Tuesday’s Coppa Italia semi-final against Milan. Both Matteo Darmian and Robin Gosens are expected to get the nod on the wings.

The Germany international started his last game in September and will replace Ivan Perisic, who was allowed to join the team later on Thursday after becoming a father. Correa is likely to replace Dzeko up front, while Danilo D’Ambrosio should get a spot in centre defence in place of Stefan de Vrij, who isn’t fully fit.

Inter are unbeaten in five games against Spezia in Serie A and Coppa Italia. The Nerazzurri are the team that averaged the most points against opponents in the second part of the table (2.6 per game, 36 points in 14 matches).

Inzaghi’s boys have already collected as many clean sheets as during the entire last season (14). The last time they managed more was in 2018-19 (17).
