Milan will look to Olivier Giroud in their home game against Genoa tonight, with the former Chelsea star being the last Rossoneri striker to find the net in Serie A more than a month ago.

The Rossoneri host Genoa at San Siro tonight. It kicks off at 20.00 UK time.

Stefano Pioli’s boys haven’t scored in the last two Serie A games and haven’t failed to find the net in three successive league matches since January 2020. Pioli won’t rotate his squad despite the imminent Coppa Italia semis with Inter.

Simon Kjaer, Alessandro Florenzi, Alessio Romagnoli, Samu Castillejo and Zlatan Ibrahimovic are injured. Franck Kessie favourite to get the nod over Brahim Diaz, but Milan fans may boo the Ivorian midfielder as they did in the last home game against Bologna. He will leave the club at the end of his contract in June and has already signed with Barcelona.

Milan won seven of the last ten Serie A games against Genoa. The Rossoneri haven’t conceded in the last five league games and are the team with the most clean sheets in Serie A this term (14, same as Inter).

Nicolò Rovella, Andrea Cambiaso, Zinho Vanheusden and Lennart  Czyborra are unavailable for Genoa.

The Rossoblu have only won two games this season, drawing 16. Mattia Destro, a former Milan striker, is expected to start, but has found the net only once in the last ten Serie A games.

He has nine goals this season and could become the first Genoa striker to reach double figures for goals in two successive campaigns since Tomas Skuhravy at the beginning of the 90s.
