Cengiz Under had a slight muscular problem in training on Saturday, but he should start anyway, primarily because there are so few alternatives.

Diego Perotti and Javier Pastore are back in the squad after lengthy lay-offs, but Eusebio Di Francesco confirmed they are in no condition to start.

If Cengiz Under doesn’t make it, then Alessandro Florenzi could be pushed up into the supporting trio behind Patrik Schick.

However, it’s rumoured Florenzi could be put into attack anyway – with ex-Inter full-back Davide Santon taking his place – with Under moved over to the left.

Inter have Sime Vrsaljko back, although he is not likely to be risked from the start, while Joao Miranda is expected to give Stefan de Vrij a rest.

Radja Nainggolan is out with a muscular and ankle issue, so won’t face his former teammates.

Joao Mario and Borja Valero are the candidates for the midfield role, but a move to 4-3-3 is likely in Nainggolan’s absence.

There are reports Perisic could be dropped in favour of Keita Balde Diao, who scored a brace against Frosinone last week and has history at the Olimpico thanks to his time at Lazio.

Another alternative would be to see Matteo Politano benched and Perisic moved to the right flank to make way for Keita.

Probable line-ups

Roma (4-2-3-1): Olsen; Santon, Manolas, Juan Jesus, Kolarov; Cristante, Nzonzi; Florenzi, Zaniolo, Under; Schick

Inter (4-3-3): Handanovic; D'Ambrosio, Skriniar, Miranda, Asamoah; Vecino, Brozovic, Joao Mario; Politano, Icardi, Perisic

Inter bench: Padelli, De Vrij, Ranocchia, Vrsaljko, Gagliardini, Borja Valero, Candreva, Keita Baldé, Lautaro Martinez
