The Grifone owner has been vocal in his plans for the January transfer window and indicated in December that alongside plans to sign a striker, that he would be looking for a new midfielder.

Whilst Alberto Gilardino has since tied up a switch from Fiorentina, Preziosi has so far been unsuccessful in securing a midfielder, for example reportedly struggling to agree terms with Cagliari for Davide Biondini, who it seems remains the club's top target.

“We are following Biondini at this time. We are there on edge – if Cagliari freed him then we’d take him now,” admitted the President, before suggesting very little else is anticipated this January.

“The market is essentially closed, but if there was another bad performance like the one against Cagliari then we would be ready to intervene through the market.”
