Last summer the patron confirmed he was negotiating to sell the club after protests from fans and with Genoa in another relegation battle this term, Preziosi has underlined his wish for a ‘better future’ for the Rossoblu.

“In football, gratitude can’t be found in the moderate fan who compare with other realities and has a desire for better results,” Preziosi told La Gazzetta dello Sport. “We are judged on our results and sometimes 13 years of sacrifices, personal and familiar, are not enough.

“I hope that sooner or later this will be understood. I hope that we will move towards a better future for Genoa. If there is a possibility, I’m ready to take a step back, but everyone knows this already.

The Rossoblu, who sit 17th in the League, face Parma at the Marassi on June 23 and come from three wins in their last four games ahead of the interruption.
