Enrico Preziosi insists once an investor with “Genoa at heart” appears, “I’ll be happy to do what I promised” and sell the club.

Genoa remain in the hands of Preziosi, despite their preseason being overshadowed by talk of a sale, but the President made it clear he was committed to funding more new signings in the meantime.

“I try not to speak much in the interests of the club,” he told buoncalcioatutti.it.

Genoa remain in the hands of Preziosi, despite their preseason being overshadowed by talk of a sale, but the President made it clear he was committed to funding more new signings in the meantime.

“I try not to speak much in the interests of the club,” he told buoncalcioatutti.it.

“When the facts arrive, everyone will know, but I’ll say this for the time being: we’re keeping quiet and we’ll speak about the facts when the time is right.

“We didn’t make up the deal, but we need someone who has Genoa at heart. Once this happens, I’ll be happy to do what I promised.

“For now, however, whatever I do will be criticised and there’s always someone that enjoys twisting my words. Therefore, it’s best to keep quiet.

“We know what we need in the market, we’re working on it and we’ll make two, maybe three, purchases.

“We certainly need two new players. The market is always moving and we have a plan ‘A’ and plan ‘B’.

“Sometimes you lose time by negotiating for just one player and you end up missing out on them. We must always be ready.”

Despite their ownership issues, Genoa have managed to bring in the likes of Gianluca Lapadula and Andrea Bertolacci this summer, while being close to Ricardo Centurion.
