Genoa President Enrico Preziosi confirms “we’ll sit at the table” if Juventus make “a suitable offer” for Mattia Perin.

The goalkeeper has been linked with a move to Turin, where he’d challenge Wojciech Szczesny for the number 1 shirt which will be vacated by Gianluigi Buffon.

“If he wants to leave, Juventus still have to call us,” Preziosi told Gianluca Di Marzio’s website at the opening of a Genoa restuarant.

“I think they were waiting for Buffon’s farewell to contact us. If they do and they make a suitable offer then we’ll sit at the table.

“I think Perin’s desire is also to leave Genoa and maybe he’s right, he’s been at Genoa for 10 years, we’ve enjoyed him for many years.

“If he goes away he’ll do it with his head held high, with the affection of the fans and all of us.

“I’ve never done an auction for a player. I think Perin is a valuable goalkeeper and any team that wants to give us a signal of interest can do it, be it Juventus or Napoli. But not by starting an auction.

“I think the player already knows where he wants to go and that's why I don’t think I need to do auctions.

“The figures aren’t decided by the player and the buying team, it’s the selling team. We have our evaluation, and if it’s shared then fine.

“If not Perin will stay here with us.”
