Pressure is mounting on Inter boss Simone Inzaghi ahead of Tuesday’s Champions League clash against Porto with Italian papers saying the Italian tactician will likely be sacked at the end of the season if he fails to qualify for the quarter-finals.

The Nerazzurri visit Porto at the Estadio Do Dragao this evening after February’s 1-0 win at San Siro in February.

Inter lost last week’s Serie A clash against strugglers Spezia slipping 18 points below table leaders Napoli. It was their eighth defeat in league games this term.

All Italian sports papers on Tuesday say Inzaghi will ‘play for the quarter-finals and his future.’

The Italian tactician is under contract until June 2024, but the Nerazzurri may decide to part ways with the former Lazio tactician if they fail to qualify for the Champions League quarter-finals.

Inzaghi joined Inter in 2021 and has won a Coppa Italia and two Supercups in charge of the Benamata.
