Milan President Silvio Berlusconi says it’s “premature” to back Coach Sinisa Mihajlovic.

The patron was in attendance for last night’s 3-0 win over Inter in the Derby della Madonnina, but wasn’t impressed enough to unequivocally back the Serbian.

“In the end it was a positive day,” Berlusconi told journalists outside the Camillo Benso restaurant.

“I think the team deserves compliments. We have absolutely no predictions in view of next season, it depends how Milan perform between now and the end of the season.

“Mihajlovic? If he’s the Milan Coach, it means the club thinks he’s working well.

“Can I confirm him until June? It’s premature to talk about that.

“So it depends on the results? Yes, like all Coaches of all teams.”

Berlusconi also gave an update on his sale of 48 per cent of the Rossoneri to Thai property tycoon Bee Taechaubol.

“The Chinese market crisis has affected the closing. We’ve had negotiations with others too, because the goal is to equip Milan with resources for the future to get back to being competitive in Italy, in Europe and in the world.

“Is a deal close? We gave very close deadlines.”
