Cesare Prandelli has insisted that Genoa are ‘wounded but still alive’ ahead of facing Torino in Serie A on Saturday.
Genoa’s Derby della Lanterna defeat to Sampdoria last weekend left them just five points above the drop zone, and they take on a Torino side who are in the mix for a top-six finish.
“We’ll be facing an organised team who play good football with intensity,” Prandelli said at his Press conference.

“We’ll be facing an organised team who play good football with intensity,” Prandelli said at his Press conference.
“We’ll try to win by matching their level of play, but it won’t be easy as Walter Mazzarri has been there for some time now and has imposed his style of play on his players."
The former Italy CT then refused to comment on protests planned by sections of the Grifone fanbase.
“I don’t want to talk about the fans, I’m only thinking about my team and this match, which is crucial. The fans will support us if we put in the right type of effort.”
The Ligurians have had players sent off in each of their last three matches, and Prandelli reflected on his team being shown the most red cards this season.
“We’re wounded but still alive,” asserted the Coach.
“The numbers say that we are the most penalised side in the League, but we mustn’t dwell on it. We must take risks.
“Andrea Favilli is the only player not available for tomorrow as he has a muscular problem.
“It has been a difficult year for him due to his injuries. Tomorrow there will be changes and everyone will have to give their best.”
Prandelli also affirmed that any talk about his future at the club would have to wait until they secured their Serie A status for another season.
“Yesterday I spoke to President Preziosi about our desire to get out of this uncomfortable position in the table, and any talk about my future will have to wait until we secure safety.”
