Cesare Prandelli felt Genoa never really recovered from the early Udinese opener and confessed to a dressing room row between players.

The Grifone had gone into the break for international duty with the record of becoming the first Serie A side to beat Juventus this season, but came crashing back down to earth at the Dacia Arena.

“There are always some uncertainties coming back from a break and we really could’ve handled the situation better when conceding within four minutes,” the Coach told Sky Sport Italia after a 2-0 defeat.

“It was an uphill struggle from there on and it became increasingly complicated. There are many areas where we need to improve, especially against teams who are this defensive. Going a goal behind that early changes everything you had prepared and it becomes a different game.”

There were reports of a blazing row between two Genoa players going into the half-time break.

“It’s true that there wee moments of extreme tension in the dressing room and I will take the appropriate action. It can happen that some players have a heated discussion during half-time.”
