Cesare Prandelli has claimed that Italy’s match with Germany on Friday will be ‘a good, open game’.

The Azzurri host the Mannschaft in Milan tomorrow evening, and the Coach has insisted that the opposition will pose a real threat.

“We’re going to try and be open against the Germans,” he told reporters. “We’ve prepared well and I’m sure we’re in for a good game.

“I’m sure they’re going to come here and do everything to win, so we have to try and counter that.”

Joachim Low has admitted that his team could learn from the Italians, something that Prandelli has taken pride in.

“Low is a friend of mine,” he added. “His words show the sort of relationship we have. There’s a real respect there.

He’s right though. Italy is the home tactics – many of our teams play a certain way, and can change during a game.”

The tactician concluded by commenting on Mario Balotelli.

“Mario is a player who knows that he is under watch during every single game. But he has to deal with that himself.

“We all know that he is a player that is feared by defences all over the world.”
