Cesare Prandelli visited Udinese’s training ground today, reportedly to request to Francesco Guidolin that he release Antonio Di Natale for training in late April.

The Italy Coach yesterday received the go-ahead from the Lega Calcio to hold a two-day training course – on April 23 and 24 – where he can call up players from the clubs, as part of an improved preparation for the summer’s European Championships in Poland and Ukraine.

In visiting Udinese’s training complex today, the Commissario Tecnico had a brief chat with Guidolin and, whilst the Bianconero Coach refused to divulge the content of their discussion, speculation is that Prandelli has requested Di Natale’s availability for this training get-together.

The striker has finished as Italy’s top goal-scorer in each of his last two seasons with the Zebrette and is currently on 19 goals for the 2011-12 campaign.

Prandelli also refused to comment on the suggestion of the April call-up, but did confirm that he is considering Di Natale for national team duty.

“I’ve been saying this for a year now,” Prandelli told Udinese Channel on Tuesday.

“He is a player who is enjoying an extraordinary run of consistent form, therefore he is being followed.

“I’m considering him very strongly. But wait before you say that he will ‘definitely be at Euro 2012’.”
