La Viola suffered a 2-1 defeat away at Marassi and remain seven points above the relegation zone.

“I am a little bit embarrassed after such game, we made two mistakes and we conceded two goals. We must be more determined and clinical in front of goal,” Prandelli told Sky Sport Italia.

“We are working to improve our mentality and to improve on a tactical level.

“I was not happy with the draw, imagine with a defeat. We must not lose self-esteem and continue like this, avoiding being frenetic in front of goal."

Dusan Vlahovic has now scored seven goals in 11 games with Prandelli in the dug-out.

“He has room for improvement, he works with great intensity and desire to emerge," Prandelli said.

“He is a guy who listens a lot. Sometimes he must focus on the team a little more and be find more balance inside himself. He can have a different impact, but I am happy with him.”

Why did the coach wait for the last 10 minutes to make the first substitution?

“The team was not doing bad, when I decided to make a substitution, I had to change our tactical system too.”
