Dennis Praet has “heard certain rumours” about Juventus, but “for now I’m happy at Sampdoria”.

The Belgian midfielder was heavily linked with the Bianconeri in the summer, but he could even extend his contract at Marassi.

“Like any young player, it’s normal that I’m aiming for a top club,” Praet told Gazzetta dello Sport.

“There will be time to think about it though, for now I’m happy at Sampdoria.

“Juve? I’ve heard certain rumours but I don’t know. It’s nice to be linked to big teams but I repeat: I’m happy in Genoa and I want to stay.

“We’re talking about a new contract, it’s what I and the club both want.

“A top club? I don’t support anyone, but as a footballing ideal I’m attracted to Barcelona. No-one is on their level.”

Praet also discussed his relationship with the club’s flamboyant President, Massimo Ferrero.

“He’s an exceptional character, a President with great passion who is unlike any other. He’s always close to us.

“I met him as soon as I arrived in Italy, I was in Rome for my medicals and he saw me cutting up spaghetti carbonara.

“He went mental, but how can you blame me? I didn’t yet know the right way to eat it!”
