Sampdoria have admitted that Andrea Poli may be sold if he doesn’t sign a new contract by the end of the season.

“His deal expires in 2014,” Doria sporting director Carlo Osti told Cartellino Giallo in an interview. “We are working with his agent regarding a renewal.

“However, if an agreement can’t be reached then that will force us to make some other considerations.”

The Italian international midfielder is a known transfer target for Juventus who made a late bid for him during the January transfer window.

Osti, meanwhile, revealed that the club are close to extending the contracts of Pedro Obiang and Nenad Krsticic. Both players will also net a pay increase.

“I hope everything can be sorted out by the end of this week,” the official added. “I see these players as future flag bearers for us, symbols of the side.”
