La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Paul Pogba’s priority is returning to Juventus but the Bianconeri need to sell at least two players to afford his signing.

Pogba will be available as a free agent in the summer if he fails to sign a contract extension with Manchester United.

In January, he will be free to sign a pre-contract agreement with any other club ahead of a free move in the summer.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Frenchman is not only open to returning to Juventus, but his priority is to wear the Bianconeri shirt again.

Real Madrid and PSG are also interested in signing him, but Pogba has reportedly told his agent Mino Raiola that he wants a return to Turin.

However, the Bianconeri can’t afford his current €14m-a-year salary, so they’d need the Frenchman to take a slight pay cut. The so-called ‘Growth decree’ could help the Old Lady as it allows a tax discount of 50 per cent on the gross salaries of players and coaches from abroad.

It applies to those who haven’t lived in Italy for the last three years and move their fiscal residency to the country for at least two years.

Also, the Serie A giants would need to sell at least two midfielders. Aaron Ramsey and Weston McKennie are on the market with the Welshman who’s one of Juventus’ highest earners.

Pogba spent four seasons at Juventus from 2012 until 2016 and he is still on very good terms with his former teammates and coach Massimiliano Allegri.

He joined the Bianconeri on a free transfer from Manchester United, before returning to Old Trafford in a €100m deal.

  1. No thanks. As much as we all love him, we must learn that, as they say in Italy, “you do not re-heat the pasta”. Bringing back players or coaches NEVER WORKS. The energy they had first time is gone and is never replaced or improved. Rather use that money for Tchouameni, Ruben Neves, or Verratti.

  2. #Kristijan Skoblar, Nice classy response. Any reason why I should “shut up my mouth”……? I’ve been supporting Juve since before you were born, and I know lots of things, and have seen lots of things. So, if you don’t mind, I WILL NOT “shut up my mouth”, thanks..

  3. @cg
to say a return never works is a bit of a stretch, Lippi returned and had huge succes.
that being sayed, i believe such thing are rather exceptional, as i do believe its in most cases better to look forward and not grab back to the past.

  4. I have no problems selling midfielders to fund his return, apart from Locatelli, they’re all useless anyway.

  5. Terrible player, not professional and disaster for the lokker room. More concerned about coluring his hair then the game.

  6. Cg if you watched juve for so long, obviously you need a pair of glasses if you missed how much class this guy posess. So its better to shut up than talk nonsenses.
