Miralem Pjanic has underlined that Roma’s primary target this season is to qualify for the Champions League.

The Giallorossi, who won their first 10 Serie A games of the season, are currently second – three points behind Juventus and five clear of Napoli.

“We will continue on our road to chase Juventus, a side who are having an incredible season,” the versatile midfielder told Mediaset.

“Our target is to return to the Champions League, then we’ll see what we can do and what the others – especially Juventus – are capable of.

“But I am certain that we can finish the campaign in the top three.”

After four successive draws, the capital giants returned to winning ways with a 2-1 over Fiorentina on Sunday.

“It was a victory which did us well mentally, against a side who will be fighting for the major honours until the end of the season.”
