The Roma midfielder netted an incredible strike from inside his own half in last night’s 3-2 defeat in Denver.
“I saw the goalkeeper off his line and so told Radja Nainggolan to pass me the ball quickly,” Pjanic told the Corriere dello Sport.
“My foot is working well, so… I felt inspired and I gave it a go. I always look at the goalkeeper before taking a shot, this time it went well and I scored.”
The Bosnian international had practiced the shot on Friday when ‘scoring’ from 50 yards on a visit to the Denver Broncos American Football team.
Roma lost to Manchester United, but put in a strong performance and only the woodwork prevented them from equalising.
“The club signed important players who have joined a squad already full of quality. For us it was important to gain experience against a strong side like Manchester United.
“I am sure with our hunger that we’ll do well.”
