The midfielder spoke to Mediaset Premium following tonight’s seventh consecutive Serie A victory, which sent them three points clear in third place.

“We did a great job against a very strong side, deserving the victory and we must continue with this enthusiasm and tempo. Today the strongest team won again.

“We played really well recently and every Serie A match is going to be difficult, but we have the right motivation and ‘anger.’ It’s a long campaign still and we need to carry on in this vein.”

On Tuesday the Giallorossi visit the Bernabeu in the second leg of the Champions League Round of 16. They lost the first leg 2-0 at home, so is it impossible?

“Real Madrid will be difficult. Now we’ll rest and then the Coach will study our opponents carefully. We’ll give everything to win and achieve a coup. Real Madrid are strong, but we want to fight them to the bitter end.”

Luciano Spalletti has transformed Roma since replacing Rudi Garcia in January and their last seven Serie A games saw 22 goals scored, just five conceded.

“We work very well during the week, we’re reaping the rewards and are happy to be working with Spalletti. We can only say that things are going very well with him,” concluded Pjanic.
