The 22-year-old’s future in the capital has been placed into doubt given that he has started just three League games so far this season.

However, Michele Gerbino has told TMW that the player is committed to the Stadio Olimpico outfit and working hard to get his chance.

“He is not leaving in January,” the representative noted. “He married the Roma cause and he wants to do well here.

“Obviously he wants to play a bit more, but he is convinced of his abilities and I’m liking his determination.

“Roma have a different idea of how to play football this season and he needs to adapt. He’s working hard.”

The former Lyon player was a wanted man in the summer, but he was never placed on the market by his club.

“There were a number of offers on the table,” Gerbino continued. “Roma, though, were very clear that the player wouldn’t be leaving the capital.

“We have an excellent relationship with director general Franco Baldini. At the end of the season we’ll review everything.”
