The midfielder has been contacted by Shanghai Shenhua, but he’s rejected their lucrative bid in order to end his Italian career in the capital.

“I’m in the last year on my contract and I want to say goodbye to Roma by winning the Scudetto,” he told La Repubblica.

Pizarro ended the 2011-12 season on loan at Manchester City after a breakdown in his relationship with Giallorossi boss Luis Enrique.

However, the latter has now resigned and the South American is looking forward to the prospect of working under Zdenek Zeman.

“Marco Cassetti has told me that he’s a tough Coach and he makes you work hard, but you see the results of that on a Sunday,” the playmaker added.

“I know about his career, he has had his problems coaching at a certain level, but he knows the environment here – that means a lot.”

Pizarro, 32, joined the Giallorossi in 2006 from Inter. He has also been linked with Fiorentina in recent weeks.
