Antonio Conte is expected to run a heavily Juventus-influenced Italy XI against Azerbaijan, including Andrea Pirlo.

The Azzurri face off against Berti Vogts’ side on Friday evening at the Renzo Barbera in the second round of Euro 2016 group stage qualification.

For the game in Palermo, expectation remains that Conte will select the returning Pirlo in central midfield and support him with Claudio Marchisio and Alessandro Florenzi.

Defence is most likely to be Andrea Ranocchia, Leonardo Bonucci and Giorgio Chiellini in front of Gigi Buffon, whilst in attack Simone Zaza and Ciro Immobile will form the partnership.

Wing-back is a position Conte spoke about in his Press conference and he is likely to run with Matteo Darmian and Manuel Pasqual.

Conte did confirm yesterday that Buffon and Pirlo would start, and that he really only had the one doubt in his proposed XI.

Probable Italy XI to play Azerbaijan: Buffon; Ranocchia, Bonucci, Chiellini; Darmian, Florenzi, Pirlo, Marchisio, Pasqual; Zaza, Immobile
